Untitled (was-is-will be)

The work consists of the words było jest będzie (was is will be) repeated three times in three lines arranged in a staircase pattern. In the initial and final lines, three dots suggest the continuation of these three words before and after. This is the first conceptual formulation of a theme later realised as The Hourglass, in which the repeated words are arranged in the shape of an hourglass (sand or water clock). The work has been presented in a typescript version on paper and on an exhibition board with text handwritten in ink on Bristol board.
