Algebra of prepositions: through, in-out / out-in (configuration examples)
A multi-panel work presented at the Foksal Gallery in Warsaw, where the boards were arranged in three horizontal strips covering three walls of the gallery. By means of a line segment placed in various positions within a square, Dróżdż visualised the function of the prepositions listed in the title. The line extends through the entire width of the square, is located in its centre, and touches out the left or right edge of the square. The arrangement of the segments changes according to a systematic rule based on clockwise rotation. The concept involves a form of interaction with the viewer, who can propose further configurations from the unfinished set of permutations shown on the panels. The work has been executed as a computer printout on paper mounted on a rigid support.
