Description
The work consists of the letters of the prefix Naj (“the most”) and an ellipsis; at the centre is the letter “N,” to which the remaining letters of the word are added twice, together with the ellipsis at the end; the second time, these letters are written above the “N” in an inverted, upside-down position. The concept prompts reflection on the economy of the Polish linguistic system, which uses the same prefix to name both the “highest” and the “lowest” as well as many other mutually contradictory meanings. For this reason, it is conceptually related to works such as Optimum and micro – macro. There is no information about this work being presented at exhibitions; it may have existed only in published form.
