Untitled (coffin cradle)

The concept of this work was developed as a contextual complement to the solo exhibition Eschatology of Existence at the Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom (1995). Given the exhibition’s theme and the colour palette of the works executed directly on the walls (white letters on a black background, covering the full height and length), this piece linked the beginning and the end of human life (cf. the work beginend). Dróżdż treated it as a contextual work that would require reworking in other exhibition circumstances to be considered an autonomous original.
