uncertainty hesitation certainty (Triptych)

The work consists of three adjacent square boards of equal dimensions, arranged horizontally or vertically. Each board is filled with a regular grid of repetitive punctuation marks. The first board contains only question marks, the middle board alternates question marks and exclamation marks, and the third board contains only exclamation marks. The punctuation marks at the edges are cut off, suggesting their continuation beyond the board. Triptych (an alternative title used by the author) has been presented in many versions: as a typescript on paper, an exhibition board with text handwritten in ink on Bristol board, and prints on paper and aluminium (Dibond).
